iPhone SE 4 specs leak ahead of 2025 launch: Here is everything we know

Apple’s next budget phone, the iPhone SE 4, has had its full specifications leaked ahead of its anticipated release in 2025. Positioned as a more affordable alternative to Apple’s flagship models, the SE line has consistently attracted users looking for quality hardware and performance at a lower price point. According to recent leaks, the fourth-generation SE could be Apple’s most impressive budget phone to date, with several features inherited from the flagship iPhone 14 and newer models.
Supply chain expert Ming-Chi Kuo has reported that Apple will start large-scale production of the fourth-generation iPhone SE in December. Apple anticipates producing around 8.6 million units of the new model in the first quarter of the upcoming year, with a potential launch in March or April 2024, Kuo shared in a recent blog post.

According to the latest leaks, the iPhone SE 4 is expected to retail between $499 and $549, marking an increase from the iPhone SE 3’s starting price of $429. In India, where the SE 3 debuted at Rs 43,900, the SE 4 is projected to be priced between Rs 51,000 and Rs 56,000.
One of the standout updates is the expected redesign of the SE 4, which appears to be moving away from the older, iPhone 8-based design to adopt a look closer to the iPhone XR or iPhone 12. This means a larger 6.06-inch OLED display, marking a departure from the smaller LCD screens of previous SE models (4.7-inch).
The design is also expected to drop the traditional Touch ID-enabled home button in favour of Face ID, following the lead of Apple’s recent models. This shift would mean slimmer bezels and a more modern look, bringing the SE lineup closer to the design standard of Apple’s current offerings.
The iPhone SE 4 is rumoured to run on Apple’s latest A18 chipset, aligning with the base models of the iPhone 16 series. Additionally, the SE 4 is expected to offer 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage—a substantial boost from the 4GB of RAM in the previous model. This memory increase aligns with the RAM bump in the iPhone 16 lineup, which is designed to support enhanced Apple Intelligence features.

Battery life also looks set for improvement, as the iPhone SE 4 is said to include a 3,279mAh battery, up from the 2,018mAh capacity in the last version. This increase complements the larger display size, which reportedly jumps from 4.7 inches to 6.06 inches. Charging speeds on the iPhone SE 4 are expected to remain at 20W, but it might also gain MagSafe charging compatibility for added convenience.
In terms of photography, the SE 4 is expected to come with a single-lens rear camera, likely a 48-megapixel sensor, supported by some of Apple’s computational photography software, such as Smart HDR and Night Mode. While it won’t have the dual or triple-camera setup of more expensive models, this camera should be competitive for everyday photography and social media use. It might also feature a 12-megapixel front camera for selfies. Apple is also expected to include USB-C, support for Wi-Fi 6 and an IP68 rating for water and dust protection.
With these rumoured updates, the iPhone SE 4 could redefine the expectations for budget smartphones. If these specs hold true, Apple’s next SE model may offer an enticing mix of modern design, reliable performance, and essential features—all at a fraction of the cost of the flagship iPhones.
